Grado Sr60 or Steelseries 5hV2?

Well the time has come to pick up some new headphones as my trusty SS 4h's are about to die. I have heard so many good things about the Grado's that I am almost ready to try them, but I love the gaming and comfort of the steelseries.

Let me know what you think or if there is another headset around this price range they I may want to consider.

I listen to music from my pc some, but most of the time I use headphones for gaming.

Thanks

Any other suggestions as to comfort and better sound quality?

I've had the Grado SR60 for almost two years now and I can say they are very nice. Don't know if they are any less comfortable than other headphones as I don't tend to use headphones for extended periods of time. Of course headphones aren't ideal for music and these are no exception. But I've been very happy with them, definitely the best I've tried.

I use the Steelseries 5Hv2, DO NOT use it with the included USB sound card. Other than that I think it sounds pretty decent and are good for gaming. However, if you mainly listen to music and watch movies there are better ones. One thing about them though is that they are VERY, VERY comfortable.

My son and I use Grado SR80's that we've had for about 2 weeks. We play COD-MW and WaW online. I've had them on for upto about an hour straight w/ no comfort issues, and I have a large head (wear a 7 7/8 hat size). Paid about $100. Fantastic sound location capability... no one sneaks up on us anymore!! I think it helps also if you have a very good soundcard.

From a comfort standpoint the Grado headphones may not be the best. They definitely take a bit of breaking in before they sit comfortably. You will also need to bend the metal band a bit and play with it in order to get it to conform to the shape of your head.

Check out the link below for potential problems with Grado headphones that might cause you to dislike them. It's for the Grado SR325i (I own a pair) but most Grado's are pretty much designed the same way.

The foam ear pads might be uncomfortable for some but you can get ($$) replacements that are softer. One problem is that the weight and design will mean that shaking your head all over the place pretty much means these headphones are going to slip off.

***EDIT

I wear glasses pretty much full time except for outdoor activities when I switch to contacts. These headphones were not really that uncomfortable while wearing glasses. While I have had no time for gaming or anything for quite a while now (baby in the house), I have played games with them for a couple of hours at a time. They are noticeable and i wouldn't say they are real comfortable but I can't say they are annoying.

Again, they do have a break in period and some (like me) may need to adjust the metal band that sits on top of your head. Overall, great headphones though I don't recommend going higher than the Grado SR80 or 125's because for most, going past that is overkill.

Of course you have to adjust them so that it fits to your head, doesn't that apply to every headphones? You have to shake your head like crazy for the SR60 to fall off once you've adjusted them, they squeeze pretty tight in my opinion. The band does seem to slip somewhat due to usage so they need to be adjusted from time to time.

Well, I hope I didn't come off as it slipping off your head at the slightest move, however, I know of some people who listen to music and are constantly headshaking so that'll be problematic for those that do that. For normal head swiveling, a little looking around but mostly staring at the screen, these will not slip off.

The Grado SR325i's are awesome when I'm in my recliner listening to music though.

Steelseries 5hV2 are super comfortable but the microphone is shit. That is the reason I sent it back to newegg.
