I'm not much of a Graduis expert but he looks to be going far too fast for the game?

Well it looks cool anyway.

I searched for Gradius and that did not pick anything up.

its possiable if all you do is get speed upgrades, that must be a modded version because after about 6 you dont speed up anymore

It was done using an emulator+save states... type of deal. It's strictly for entertainment, but theoretically possible.

fast forward to the last level, it's obviously modified.

using an emulator to play at <50% speed will allow you to dodge and weave like that

He's using a cheat "invincibility" you can use the game genie on a emulator. Look carefully he touches the bad guys soooo many times.

Or like someone said he slowed the emulator down to like 30 or 50% then speed the reply up and recorded it.
