well its only my first term of my first year so I don't think that one or two C's will hurt too bad will they?
as far as the people saying that they would drop the class...I wish I went to school where you do, here if you drop the class they give you a W instead of a grade and I have heard that looks waaayyyyyy worse than even an F.

I had a C once. I forced myself to retake the course, and still only managed a B. In hinsight, it was the professor, not the course, that it made it so difficult.
Here's the thing, grades only matter for your FIRST real job out of college just like your HS grades only matter to get into college.
In terms of a C in a class, it's bad, but it may happen once in while. What usually happens in engineering/math/physics/hardcore science classes is 1 of 3 possibilities:
A: you'll get C's or lower on tests and the class average will be really low, so it'll get curved up by a letter grade or better and your overall class grade will be A or B.
or
B: you'll get C's or lower on tests and your average at the end will look really bad (C-range) but the professor will then curve the grades to A or B
or
C: you'll get C's or lower on tests and your professor is an ass, and that's what you get.
You will have professors like type C above, you may work hard, learn a lot, and still not do as well. The issue comes where your classmates may have the same class with professors type A and B. They may have less or equal knowledge, but because of the professor, they have the better grade.

Alot of big engineering companies think C's are really bad. I work for a company that if you less than a 3.0 they throw out your resume. I got one C in college and man did it kill my GPA. Went from a 3.9 to like a 3.83. Sucked
Not true if you do some networking while still in school. I've posted this multiple times but I graduated with a 2.43 cumulative GPA and I got a IT management job through someone I knew at school.

Yeah,
which means that unless you have connections, you're screwed. Completly irrelevant to the discussion at hand - i have a friend who's dad happens to be a vice president of Ford... and he's had an internship at Ford every year since highschool....
Most companies will toss your resume at the first pass - I have a 3.1 with double degree and I'm working hard to get it to a 3.2-3.3 ish...
