i was on a meeting this morning with my academic advisor. we were discussing this research paper that we are submitting in about a week or so to a conference. since the due date is near, you can imagine that this discussion is highly serious, and at one point she was telling me about a particular part of the paper, that has been somewhat of a problem to me. she told me to not think too much, and trust myself and just write it as it is, "however..", she said, "when in doubt...".. and she paused for about one second.
i find it *really* hard to control myself not to immediately shout "WHIP IT OUT!" right to her face. the next five minutes was sort of a blur because i was concentrating on holding back my laugh and my stomach was literally hurting because of that. of course, i managed to nod and say 'uh huh' and stuff like that to keep the meeting going without her realizing what's going on.
