grabbing a page in opera comes out with different results than IE

Hi,

I am trying to help a charity edit their website.

When I grabbed a page using Opera 7.54, some of the gifs came out with weird file names - adding 0, 00, 000, or 00000 onto the end of the file.
When I used Dreamweaver, for the first time, and sent the page off to the ppl to put on the site - they were a bit confused, as, on their system, the page didn't load up correctly.

After some banter, I tried using IE to grab the page, - no problem.

Now, - I spent hours doing the update - and my head was a bit frazzled.

Why does opera [my ultimate fave browser of all time] make some of the files come out with a different name?, whereas IE doesn't [my least fave].???

Thanks in advance

Seeing as I did not write opera or IE, and neither of them are open source, I have no idea why the developers did it that way.

Issue with your program to grab it, not opera. Opera doesn't change image names.

That's a poor analogy. A better one would be, the next time someone asks you why their clock only shows military time you can tell them that you don't know because you didn't design that clock.

I used Firefox the other day, with their Spiderzilla extension to grab a small site, and it worked out fine. You might want to try that.

i didn't use a third party prog to save the page - just did it in file/save.

in IE, did it the same way - and surprisingly, actually worked better than the Opera save.

Now i think there isn't a prob, cos i've just finished alot of cutting/pasting, saving over the css file, scout around for the original etc etc.
BUT i have tried it out several times again, and still the same results....
Any ideas in the name of science

Odd, I did it and it did the same thing. Only to some of the images, not all of them. Report it in opera forums.
