phil mickelson is surprising.

I was thinking the same thing. He is one of the nicest guys on tour.

Uh, everything I've heard says that he's really nice in front of the cameras but pulls a two-face once they're not around. Apparently he's a whiny ass.

How can Phil Mickelson be on there over Tiger Woods? There is just no love for the lefty.

This is a poll of athletes, not fans.

If the other golfers said they hated Tiger Woods, they'd be labeled as racists.

is it only pro atheletes...cause reddick is missing on that list...i mean i like him but most everyone seems to hate on the dude

I used to hate him only because I thought he got way too much media hype and was therefore, overrated.

However, I now have nothing but admiration for the guy. He is one he!! of a player and a lot of fun to watch.

Ah ha! The inspiration for the David Simms character in Tin Cup?

"It's true. If there's not a camera on him he treats old people and children like dirt."
"And dogs..." /Tin Cup 😀

We should just redo the top 10 list.

1. Terrell Owens
2. Ron Artest
3. Barry Bonds
4. AJ Pierzinski
5. Bonzi Wells
6. Kurt Busch (i hate all nascar so i'm just going by what i've heard in the past about him)
7. Randy Moss
8. Mike Vanderjagt
9. Lattrell Sprewell
10. Jeff Kent

Here is the blurb on that guy i didn't recognize

6. Michael Iaconelli, Fishing : We give you America?s biggest basshole. As one rival puts it, Iaconelli, a loud, brash New Jerseyite, has ?disgraced? the predominantly southern, rural, Christian sport of angling. ?When he catches one,? says celebrated fisherman Denny Brauer, ?you?ve got the fist pumps, the running around the boat, the lying flat on the boat. He?ll stare at the fish, yell at it, point at it. He?ll shake his finger at it.? Iaconelli has repeatedly defied the sport?s time-honored codes

Where is Tiger Woods? Put that arrogant asshole #1 for crying out loud.

He might be arrogant, but he backs it up..
He is the best golfer of this decade, you can't even argue that..

I didn't know phil was so hated but it makes sense to me. You can hate tiger all you want, but he's popular and is graceful. Rarely does he pull crap offensive to other players.

Glad to see Lleyton Hewitt made the cut. He's the only athlete of the ones listed (except maybe bonzi wells) where the announces regularly mention how much other players dislike him.

That's is what I've read heard also. Away from the cameras he is an ass to the other players and fans.

Yeah, my father-in-law is a big fisherman and we have to watch TNN fishing when we visit. That guy is pretty cool. You have all those somber old farts cashing fish and telling boring ass stories to the camera. But this guy acts like a total 'tard, which is cool. He jumps around, screams, kisses the fish, etc.

Just knowing that he rubs the rednecks the wrong way is enough for me to like the guy.

I've seen clips of this guy. Seriously, he catches a fish and then yells in triumph for minutes and dances like he just scored the game winning field goal in a nba finals game. He does this for every fish he catches. Imagine if a baseball player did all that every time he got a hit. That's Iaconelli.

Come to think of it, maybe Todd Bertuzi (sp?) should be on the list. I could care less about hockey, but that guy broke another dude's neck in a big time punk move.
