Or will these GPUs also run on boards *not* supporting hybridpower, and function like a non-hybridpower card?

Are you talking about cards that shut itself down when not doing 3D stuff?

If so then you don't absolutely need a motherboard that supports it...it'll just act like a regular card.

Cards that support HybridPower will be capable of that with a supporting motherboard, but yes, will work fine as a "normal" card on non-supporting motherboards.
