Thx for the heads up :)

Good to hear they are actually working on ATI support  (not in this release, incase you wondered).

They've always said they're working on ATI support. But every time something happens in the nvidia client, people bring it up and Stanford says the same thing - we're working on it, give us time, you'll see results in the (hopefully) not too distant future. But it never comes.

So my quad-9600GSO cruncher gets between 13000 and 16500 PPD, depending. So one 480 is equivalent to four 9600GSOs? I wonder what the power consumption is between those two?

I went to Newegg to do a price/performance comparison, and wholly chit! GTX480 is $500! My whole rig cost $700 or so, and that's with a 6400AAKS HD and DVD burner, etc.

Edit: It seems that currently, GPU3 units have less PPD than GPU2 units, and the issue is being looked into. So in the future, a 480 might be able to outrun my four 9600GSOs.
