GPU upgrade

I would say a GTX 2060 or a GTX 2070. The 1660ti is also a good possibility. We really need to know your budget.
 
If money is no objection, then go for the RTX 2080ti. I mean its extremely expensive, but at least you get the best and down the line you can upgrade your CPU as well, as Ryzen 3000 becomes available in the summer.

The best value card right now in the sort of higher mid tier range is the RTX 2060. Its the best bang for your buck. Its within 5% of the GTX 1080, it even matches or even beats it in Vulkan and some DX12 games. Alternatively you can get a used GTX 1080, its still 5-10% faster than the RTX 2060 in most DX11 games.
