Looking to put a new video card in my HP.
Want to stay under $160 for the card. I will also be upgrading the PSU at the same time.
Computer has a pcie x16 slot
Mainly playing Star Craft 2.

EDIT: currently using on board video NVIDIA GeForce 9100
monitor resolution 1600x1200

Thanks for the help!

If you want to stay under $160 then your only current gen choice is a ATI HD 5770.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Do you think the performance i would get out of SF2 with this card would be good or if i paid a little more i would get better bang for my buck?

The next card that's an actual step up is a GTX 460 1GB that are $230 MSRP. If you choose to go this route make sure it's the 1GB version as it has a better bus than the 768mb version (256bit vs 128bit).

Check the cards in my edit both should give you a big bump up from an onboard. If you're not running a good/OC'd quad core CPU then the 5770 might be the best for you.

update!
went with the SAPPHIRE 100283-3L Radeon HD 5770 1GB 128-bit
Works great and SC2 recommends all settings to be ultra
just what i was looking for and for only $130.
Thanks again for all the help!
