Found an i3-2120 for $50 to go on my unused 1155 board. The only PCIe GPU I have is an NVidia GeForce GTX460GC 768mb, so I'm thinking it will be the bottleneck. What GPU would be a good pair for the i3 at about $100-120?

This will be used for 1680x1050 gaming.

Edit: How well would a 750ti pair with it? It seems it's on-par with the 860m mobile chip, and I gamed on that at 1080p for over a year. I did have a quad core i7 though.

It will work fine with a 750ti. That lil chip is plenty fast.

So overall performance at 1680x1050 in say, FPS with medium settings and RPGs in medium-high would be good? Not nearly as fast as my 970m/4720hq/22gb g751, but more than acceptable?

I've got my HTPC i3-2100 paired with a GTX950 (for h.265 codec reasons) but I don't see why a GTX750Ti wouldn't be a good match for your i3, with the caveat that the newer tech 950s are coming down in price (I think mine was $120 or so, AR) vs the older 750Ti (which is now $100'ish.)

I saw that newegg has an EVGA 950 for 139 with a $20 rebate card. That's not terrible, but id rather do without the higher power consumption, more noise and extra power connector.

I've got the EVGA GTX950 FTW in my HTPC... it is a very quiet card. I can't argue about power consumption... I don't really care about that, but I can't imagine it's not at least as thrifty as a GTX750Ti... o_O

At idle, I'm sure it's the same or better, but under load... remember the 750ti is a 60w tdp vs 90w tdp for the 950.

Jeepers... that's what I get for not checking the facts. o_O I would never have guessed 50% more.
