Question GPU slots, 2 or 3, or personal preference

It's been a long time, but I'm in the market for a new GPU it seems. Borderlands 3 is the goal, minimum specs 680GTX with 2GB, current hardware specs:

CPU: i5-6600K stock speeds
RAM: 2x8GB stock DDR4
MB: Asus Z170-AR
PSU: 220-G2-0850-XR, eVGA SuperNOVA 850 G2
Case: Fractal Design, enough room length-wise for either type of adapter
-No other expansion cards currently. Maybe a NIC later, but even then the 3 slot won't cover all the slots.

I have a Palit branded 560Ti that's been solid, but it's aged... It was given to me free, and it just keeps on running

I have an eVGA 760 that I picked up used, it worked for a bit...but it's not playing nicely.

So here I go, these are what I'm deciding between at this point. I've never had a 3 slot card, wondering what others think about them.

I thought that you were talking about the overall number of PCI-E x16 slots on your board. You're talking about GPU slot-width? Basically, depends on the spacing of your board, and whether or not you want to use the rest of the slots on it, and for what.

You did see the thread in Hot Deals, for the $204 GTX 1660 Super (EVGA "Black" triple-slot), right?

At those prices, I wouldn't recommend anyone get the GDDR5-based non-Super / non-Ti variants.

Edit: It's now $214 AMIR, but still a "deal", compared to those cards on EVGA.com. (This card is also an EVGA.)

Ok, thanks Lar, I'll look into it. And no, I did not see those deals, dammit!

edit:

This is what you mean: https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=06G-P4-1061-KR

This is what I literally just bought before reading your post:

So cancel and order the 1061-KR?

2nd edit: yea, i'm cancelling and ordering the 1061-KR, thanks again larry.

I have a 1660ti and I am pretty happy with it, one warning dvi port compatible cards are hard to find if you need dvi....
second disclaimer I run a 1650(?)x1050 monitor. Sort of old but good enough and like your card it just keeps running.
I like how it is like a half length card, the fans aren’t super loud and works good for everything.
the 1660 supers are pretty much the same card.

Yeah, I've got three GTX 1660 ti cards, all MSI. Two 'Ventus', one 'Gaming X'. Strangely, the Gaming X card seems to stall out sometimes, mining. Although, I think when I checked one of my secondary PCs, the Ventus in that PC was also stalled, mining AND doing F@H at the same time... maybe it ran out of VRAM, and crashed the miner or something. Or it could just be the NV driver revision that I've got loaded on these PCs. They sometimes have weird "little issues". (That no-one wants to talk about, no-one wants to spoil the "lore" that NV drivers are somehow better or "perfect". LOL.)

Went with that one. It was out of stock a couple days ago. I signed up to the in stock notification...but can't find it in my mail. Anyways, back in stock this am, bought it. Fingers crossed.
