GPU required for UW screen?

So I have decided to go for an UW instead of triple monitors... I think I will hang out for the AOC u3477pqu. I am going to upgrade my dual gtx 295 sli config - getting too noisy and a bit choppy in places.

I mainly MMO - Wildstar/ArcheAge currently.

Is a gtx 970 going to be enough grunt or is a gtx 980 going to be required @3440 x 1440?
 
If you can find any benchmarks then you can pretty much follow the guidelines that it is likely to only need 60% of the pixel pushing power than it would need at 4k.

Or to put it another way it would only need 33% more power than it would at 2560x1440p.
