GPU OC Setting Adaptive Voltage?

ASRock H97M Pro4 (and others) includes an option Load Optimized GPU OC Setting to increase GT Frequency up to 1600MHz which sets GT Voltage Mode to Override Mode at a fixed 1.310 V. This works fine.

However, preferably it would be changed to Adaptive Mode to avoid the additional power when not required. But, when done so and GT Adaptive Voltage is set to the same 1.310 V, 3D applications instantly freeze the system as if unacceptable voltage. This may only be when actually changing to Adaptive Mode while Load Optimized GPU OC Setting is enabled because it seems to work when disabled and GT Frequency is manually set to 1600MHz.

In any case, CPUID Hardware Monitor reports GT having uniform voltage of 1.341 for Value, Min, and Max even after 3D usage. At default settings, it instead reports a GT Offset. So, perhaps under Adaptive Mode, the GT Voltage Offset would work but then what would that be relative to the fixed voltage which works? What is the default and acceptable range for Haswell and how do C-States apply?

Nope, GT Voltage Offset is described as fixed so cannot be a function of Adaptive Mode. Yet GT Adaptive Voltage is described as the voltage added to the GPU rather than the fixed value of Override Voltage.

So, Adaptive Mode "works" with the same value as Load Optimized GPU OC Setting but it cannot be confirmed by HWMonitor that the voltage is actually changing on demand. Does ASRock A-Tuning or Intel Extreme Tuning Utility report differently?

Information is difficult to find because GPU OC is overshadowed by CPU OC in search results.
