GPU fan was stuck - permanent damage?

I'm new to the PC gaming scene, and I just installed a new EVGA GT430 graphics card. A loose cable in the case was resting on the GPU fan, preventing it from moving. This resulted in my computer restarting anywhere from 30 seconds to 5 minutes into games. I ran a temperature monitor while I was trying to figure out what was wrong (hadn't looked inside the case yet) and it was idling around 60-70C and would go up around 1C every 1-5 seconds up to the low hundreds when I started a game.... When it reached ~105C the PC restarted.
My question is: could there be permanent damage to the card? I would like to know if I should expect any more problems from the chip reaching temps greater than 100C about 5-10 times.
Thank you!

It's possible. Now that the fan is working, go back to gaming and see if it crashes. If it doesn't, you lucked out.

You can perform a simple visual inspection of the capacitors (cylindrical objects) on the card and see if there is any bulging on the sides or top of them. If you see that at all there's a good chance there's a problem and there's no telling how reliable the card will be from this point on.

If the card is damaged and you stress the card at all, you could very well push it to the point of no return; boot failure.

As hot as 105°C is, and depending on how many times it happened, I'd be surprised if the days weren't numbered for that card. I don't know the personal characteristics of how much an EVGA GT430 can take, but that's frighteningly high for any PCB. :(
