GPU crunching with Radeon 3850?

Is this an option or not? I might pick up a 3850 (at $180 they're cheap for the performance you get) if I could use it for crunching.

Anyone know?

I thought I was up on new hardware!😉 what's a 3850 when it's at home??😱

(oh btw ,I doubt it ,at least for now ,however I'll let more knowledgeable people speak😉)

So the short answer is "not right now" correct?

Perhaps in the future...but ATM if I need a card for F@H the x1950pro is the way to go?

yep the 1950pro is a good solution, actually any 1900/1950 card is a good bet. As far as the 3850 i'd say that there is a good chance that the r6xx compatible client will be out in the future, how near that is is anybodys guess.

see the second posting by vijay pande here This is the most he has admited so far, they have the new client working in house on the 2xxx series card, and since the 38xx series is just a die shrink of the 2xxx iirc they should be eventually compatible, the only thing is...WHEN?
