GPU crashing after I upgraded PSU. What did I miss??

I upgraded GPU's to a Nvidia 9600GT. I upgraded the power supply to a 450W Coolmax (model CT-450) I hooked everything up properly, triple checked everything and it was all good. Booted up and now even the most minor app is crashing my system to a black screen. This card was running fine on a 300W PSU without the PCIe connector with Borderlands, WoW, and Mass Effect 2. Now, with the new PSU and full power to the card, everything is crashing, even games like Republic Commando and Plants vs Zombies. Did I miss something, do I need to change some voltage settings in the BIOS?? Any help would be great. Spec from Belarc below.

That is the cause. What power supply did you have before?
A cheap 500W is no better than a good 300W one

300w is a stock PSU in the unit. I still don't understand how an increase in power can cause lower performance though.

Just 'cause you paint flames on a geo metro doesnt mean you have more power...

The power supply could be faulty. If it doesn't deliver stable voltages then your PC will crash.

There is an article on the front page of AT right now discussing 3 different 550W power supplies and how the cheapest can barely deliver 50% of its rated power. 275W is less than your old 300W power supply.

yeah but the 300 watt power supply was likley much lower quality than what he has now.
