Hope this is the right forum.

Looking for possible cooling suggestions for an Sapphire X1950 XT. I looked at the coolers over at Newegg.com, but the quiet coolers I liked (the Zalman VF900 and Zerotherm GX815 Gamer Edition) use a 3 pin powe connector you plug into the mobo or powersupply.

Which is the problem. My mobo has 3 connectors for fans (cpu, chipset and system), but the system posts are on top of the cpu mounting and my psu doesn't have a fan connector.

Anyone using an after market cooler on an X1950 XT that's quiet, cool and plugs into the video card or uses a 4 pin power connection from the psu they wouldn't mind recommending?

tag.

I'm looking for the same for my x1950 pro. OP, did you check out the Gigabyte (V-Power, I think) cooler on Newegg? Looks heafty and potentially quite quiet. Little spendy, though.

Yeah, I'm interested in the UDUP21. It looks substantial, I'm curious how it actually performs.

You can get a 3pin to 4 pin molex passthrough adapter so you can plug the 3pin fan directly into your PSU. Newegg carries them IIRC, just add one to your order.

That Gigabyte GH-UDUP21-VC looks very interesting! Almost like the HR-03 with a built-in fan almost. I'd be tempted to get one of those over the others. I'd like to see the performance of that :D

Yeah, I think it looks pretty sweet. I wonder if it's smaller than the size being reported on the HR-03.

Looks more like the stock cooler for the 7900GTX than the HR-03. Nothing wrong with that since that was a good stock cooler, but I'm just saying. :)

Awesome. Thanks for the link. Now all I need to do is make sure that I have the room for it on my motherboard (two tv tuners in the PCI slots and a future PCI-E 1x Wi-Fi card). Hopefully I can make it work as I'd love to have a silent cooler for my x1950 pro.

If I was a member over on that forum, I'd give that guy his due for putting together this nice, detailed review. Maybe someone can do that for me. :)

I went ahead and purchased this today as well. Should be here early next week. I'm looking forward to it.
