GPU Blower fan vibration/grumbling - salvageable?

Hi all,

My GPU fan made a grumbling/vibrational noise at lower RPMs (e.g., at less than ~30% speed) that goes away at higher RPMs. I disassembled it and took this picture.

My question: Will putting a new layer of bearing grease restore the smooth spinning at low RPMs without vibration/grumbling? The axle appears to be fine, but it's hard to tell whether the brass bushing is worn beyond tolerance. I'm hopeful that the vibration is merely caused by a lack of grease that is easy to fix, such that my symptoms are normal and not due to mechanical failure of the bushing.

I am wondering if anyone has experience replenishing the grease, and if that makes the fan work good as new? I am concerned because perhaps the best course of action is to just re-assemble it without adding any grease, as I have no idea if replacing the grease will be a waste or introduce new problems? No WD-40 was involved in this project. Only would use grease specifically made for bearings/bushings.

The fan is from a reference cooler of an MSI-brand AMD HD 5850.
