gpu and nb water block recommendations

I was originally going to go with the swiftech models for both of these but they are only 3/8" ID. Since everything else is 1/2" in my setup, I chose to go with the DD Maze4 GPU block. I've read good things about this gpu block. However I haven't heard anything about the DD NB block. Can anyone recommend a good 1/2" ID NB water block? Also if the maze4 gpu block is no good please inform me.

Hey gotensan;

You won't find much hard data on NB coolers because they don't make much of a difference in terms of heat generated. Maybe a few years ago they did, but not now. In the near future even less than now because next gen CPU's are including NB functionality in the CPU die. If you want one though, the Maze4 CS block is a good product.

So even if I overclock my cpu and vid card I won't need to make the cooling on nb better than the stock? Right now it's just a heat sink. Should I go for hsf or get the water block? The water block will only be like $15 more than hsf.

The NB's just don't get that hot on more recent MB's, even with hard overclocks. That's not to say that you would be unjustied in wanting to manage NB heat, only that it might not be very needed. If the price difference is that small, sure, go for it. Just remember to pop for high-guality hose (Tygon, PrimoFlex) and some coolsleeve, because you're going to have some funky angles to contend with.
