GPS recommendations?

so i've got some bonus money burning a hole in my pocket and i've been wanting a gps for some time. it would be for hiking and also navigating in the car. for the hiking i'd like to be able to download the path into my pc so i could show where we'd been. any suggestions?

interesting, thanks rossman. any thoughts on how this compares to garmins?

one possibility i'm looking at is the garmin forerunner 301. this unit looks pretty cool - ties into a heart rate monitor and tracks various pieces of info about your workout, which you can then download to your pc and some special software. wouldn't work for navigating in the car though.

I have a garmin e-trex that I use for geocaching. I got the cheapest model, which was $85 at the time. It doesn't have any space for putting in city maps, but if you get the next model up (which is around $130 I believe) you can get that feature. I really like the one that I have.
 
i hae a garmin rino 130 that i love 😀

of course me and my buddies run around in the woods/desert palying military all weekend so it's really handy

I have one of these - it does just about everything, plus has a color screen. A bit pricey (I think they usually go for around $500 - I got mine on a clearance sale for half price) but worth it.
 
i have microsoft street and trip 2005 with the gps. Got it for around $100, you can hook it up to your laptop or pda. But i think you need a special adapter for the pda. Not good for hiking though. Pretty good for navifating int he car

If it's for both car navigation and Hiking, I also say go for the 60C or 60CS.
