GPS dash mount

I got the Garmin c320 GPS unit as a gift this year. However, trying to stick it to my windshield isnt feasible (and illegal in CA). I was looking for other mounting options and I found the friction/dash mount that Garmin makes. But I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with these. I drive a Nissan Altima and if you aren't familiar with the interior the dash has a pretty good radius to it, I think I have pictures if needed. I don't expect it to work if it were perpendicular to gravity but would it still work on say a 45-60 degree pitch? Thanks for all your help.

i have the same unit and use it with their friction mount (the one with the three discs surrounding the center one). on my civic it works pretty well. but on my dad's 04 maxima the dash is too sloped and it slides off.

Thanks....I'll check a maxima and see how the slope compares to my car. If this wont work, does anyone have any idea of what I can do to have it relatively close to my view?
