hey I'm looking to get a pretty cheap GPS for about $150. I have no idea really what the differences are. I'm looking for one that will talk, give ETA, distance, good UI, and is cheap. traffic and mount aren't important to me. I have a circuit city that is going out of business by me so I can hit that up for 30% off or wait for black friday or the monday. any advice?

1.) Do not buy a Navigon product (I came very close to putting mine under my rear wheel and destroying it on a recent trip) Sold it to some poor SOB on eBay this week instead. I really wanted to destroy it instead, but cheapness won out...
2.) You want "text to speech" So you odn't have to look at it in traffic.

Everyone has a Tom Tom One for $99 this week, it's a good choice.

Who needs TTS? My Nuvi 205 says how far to turn and when I need to turn. The only thing it doesn't say is the street name, but a quick glance at the unit takes care of that. A lack of TTS would never be a deal-breaker for me.

Text-to-Speech is awesome, and much safer because you look at your TomTom less and focus more on the road. Once you have it, it's kind of hard to operate without it. The TomTom 130S and 330S both have Text-to-Speech, and can be found for really affordable prices almost anywhere. There's a lot of TomTom deals going on on Black Friday as well.
