So I made some mistakes last term and my cumulative isn't doing so good.

My question is do you think its possible to bring my GPA from 2.09 to a 2.25 by this fall?

I have really easy classes next term and there is no reason that I shouldn't be able get at least a 3.5

So what do you think? Please no flames.

... this is the worst question ever.

How many quarters/semesters in are you? How many units have you completed? How many units are you taking now?

easily

So it is possible to take my cumulative from 2.09 to 2.25, I asked a friend and he said it was highly unlikely in just a term, so I thought I would get a second opinion.

definitely dude. i started college with a 2.7 gpa and ended with a 3.15. And there were a few quarters in there where i had a below 3 gpa, so its definitely doable, just gotta work hard.

if your next term is your third, assuming you have the same number of credits every term:
(2+2+4)/3 = 2.67. so if you take 11 units and get a 4.0, you will end with a 2.67 or so gpa. If you take more units and get a 4.0, you can get a higher gpa, just put in the effort and you will be rewarded. this advice comes from experience

So, you have 46 points, 22 units, 2.09 pts/unit.

Assuming you take 22 more units and get an average of 3.5, 77 more points.

123 / 44 = 2.795

I should have been more specific, I was wondering if it was possible to raise it to a 2.25 be this fall, do you think its still possible?

yes, just find out what gpa you need with the number of units you are taking this semester/quarter to get a 2.25. not a difficult calulation. our posts were just saying it is possible to actually get higher than a 2.25, therefor, it is possible to get 2.25 (maybe not exactly, but very damn close).

Why don't you just figure out what you need to get in your classes to see if it's possible to get the GPA you want? Are you so terrible at school that you can't even compute your GPA?

X = sum of all credit hours * course grade (i.e. weighted)
Y = sum of all credit hours

X / Y = GPA

Figure out what you'll get if you get all A's this semester and then you will know if it's possible or not. Yeesh.

Cool. I was just wondering, I had a friend say that there was no way I could raise my GPA to a 2.25 by the fall.

Guess he was wrong. :)

2.25 is pretty low :(

It really depends how many credits you have right now. If you have a 105 credits, it's almost gona be impossible to move your GPA significantly.

I graduated with a 3.619

Well it's not hard to compute. To go from 2.09 to 2.25, you need 2.25+2*(2.25-2.09), because you have half the amount of time (assuming same # of credits). That's 2.57 you need next semester.
