I can't reach anything in .gov zone. And 'downforeveryoneorjustme' says the same thing!

I tried dmv.ca.gov and faa.gov, and neither is resolving.

Doomed!

Odd both faa.gov and www.faa.gov resolve to same IP, yet I can't get to faa.gov either. Guess their web server is not configured properly to accept connections at the main domain.

Edit: wait, this is really messed. on my DNS server I get a different result:

Code:
[root@borg dev]# nslookup faa.gov
Server: 127.0.0.1
Address:	127.0.0.1#53

Non-authoritative answer:
Name:	faa.gov
Address: 67.215.65.132

[root@borg dev]# nslookup www.faa.gov
Server: 127.0.0.1
Address:	127.0.0.1#53

Non-authoritative answer:
www.faa.gov	canonical name = www.faa.gov.edgekey.net.
www.faa.gov.edgekey.net	canonical name = www.edgedirector.faa.akadns.net.
www.edgedirector.faa.akadns.net	canonical name = e4021.dscb.akamaiedge.net.
Name:	e4021.dscb.akamaiedge.net
Address: 23.61.12.95

Changed router settings to use Google DNS servers. Now everything works beautifully.
In case you want to do the same: 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4
Screw you, Comcast!

There is a bug that has been going around for a while called DNSChanger. My roommate works for an ISP and he said that they recently received notice that their core network infrastructure was 'updated' so that DNSChanger could not alter the hardware. Apparently, it can infect computers as well as routers and switches.

It's hard to say what is propagated, but anything is possible these days!
