It will probably be a close race, but I think Palin just put McCain over the top.
Want to lay $50 on that? I'll put my money where my mouth is. I don't believe McCain can or will win this election.
I'll lay another $50 on that. are you up for the game, hellokeith?
\still think it'll be a battle 'till the bitter end...

LOL, they drug out the knocked up daughter and her boyfriend -- what a crock of shit.
It does seem really shameless to drag out that idiot Levi Johnston. He looks like he'd rather be getting a root canal.
Not to mention she's showcasing her DOWN SYNDROME BABY to the crowd. Talk about f*cked up.
That's her kid -- I got no problem with her bringing out her baby.
But that douchebag kid that knocked up Bristol -- that whole thing wreaks of backroom Republican "Let's put a brave face on the pregnancy" bullshit.

Simply amazing she was. That's exactly what this country needs. My girl, a democrat was cheering and clapping for her and that speech swayed her to vote for the ticket. Simply awesome. Any body that has known or been with a strong woman - that's what Palin is. A WOMAN, a real one and her speech only solidifies that - an incredible woman and a perfect running mate.
Could that be due to the location of the teleprompter??Originally posted by: Perknose
To the left or the right, head tilted upwards.
Watch, during her closing line and applause.

I guess your girl is pretty dumb to get swayed by about 15 min of rhetoric.

I saw through a few hours of the RNC coverage. I'm not sure why but I finished packing and had nothing else to do. Anyway, my take:
-First part was an absolute snoozefest up to and including Carly Fiorina. PBS had to cut to shots of people in the crowd NOT asleep.
-Mitt Romney went from moderate conservative to whackjob in one speech. Somehow he tried to make the point that the current Supreme Court was too liberal. A couple analysts remarked that he may be trying to prepare himself for a 2012 run.
-Mike Huckabee was the best orator of the night. I disagree with him on most issues but he came across well and shifted the mood favorably for Palin.
-Rudy Giuliani was on Obama attack mode the whole time. Not a very substantive speech but did get the crowd riled up.
-Sarah Palin gave a solid if unremarkable speech. She showed she can hold her own in front of a crowd. But I'm more interested in seeing how well she can perform in a debate against Biden, or answering questions in front of a less receptive audience. I've never seen Palin or Biden debate, but based on their performances, I'd put my money on Biden.

Obama isn't too much into himself -- people are just too much into him. People are holding him up as some Messiah and he's not.

Sure enough, I'm more excited about a Palin / Biden debate than a McCain / Obama debate.

Pretty good speech.
I especially love the well-deserved attacks on the media. There's nothing the media hates worse than a successful conservative woman. Especially one who has more experience than the media's self-appointed elitist community organizer.
Sarah Palin will definitely bring out the conservative base, probably more than any other potential VP pick. McCain made a very wise VP choice.
Palin obliterates Obama on pretty much every level that counts to average voters, except perhaps in speech-giving. I wish she were running for Pres instead of John, and I wish I could vote for her without having to vote for John.
It will probably be a close race, but I think Palin just put McCain over the top.

well deserved attacks on the media, successful conservative women, what?
Palin is getting attacked because her nomination is like a bad joke. More experience my ass. When mccain decided to drop a nobody on the vp slot, they should have known this woudl be the result, your going to get a years worth of dirt digging in a week, as it should be.
