I still believe she's a liability for McCain, and at the end of the day picking her really sealed the deal in terms of an Obama victory.

Well, it's not like McCain was the favorite to start with. From her performance tonite, I think she at least won't hurt McCain.

We know democrats will vote Obama, independent will mostly vote Obama, and the only chance for McCain is to get republican voters out in large number. Problem with McCain is that lots of conservatives don't like him much and lots of them were gonna sit out this election. But with Palin, and all the attacks on her, as well as her views, which is in line with conservatives, this might just give those ppl enough us against them feeling to come out and give McCain a fighting chance in this election.

The people in that crowd would like to think she is one of their own, but a true maverick has a disdain for party politics in general. In her heart she thinks she's a rebel, but now she is going to have to sell her soul.

It does seem really shameless to drag out that idiot Levi Johnston. He looks like he'd rather be getting a root canal.

Not to mention she's showcasing her DOWN SYNDROME BABY to the crowd. Talk about f*cked up.

Simply amazing she was. That's exactly what this country needs. My girl, a democrat was cheering and clapping for her and that speech swayed her to vote for the ticket. Simply awesome. Any body that has known or been with a strong woman - that's what Palin is. A WOMAN, a real one and her speech only solidifies that - an incredible woman and a perfect running mate.

That's her kid -- I got no problem with her bringing out her baby.

But that douchebag kid that knocked up Bristol -- that whole thing wreaks of backroom Republican "Let's put a brave face on the pregnancy" bullshit.

She's just got more balls than you to have a DOWN SYNDROME BABY. There isn't any problem with showing off your kid. You just can't do it off a balcony. The only fucked up thing is blaming her for child's mistakes. She's 17 and at some point needs to take some responsibility, not the parents.

Pretty good speech.

I especially love the well-deserved attacks on the media. There's nothing the media hates worse than a successful conservative woman. Especially one who has more experience than the media's self-appointed elitist community organizer.

Sarah Palin will definitely bring out the conservative base, probably more than any other potential VP pick. McCain made a very wise VP choice.

Palin obliterates Obama on pretty much every level that counts to average voters, except perhaps in speech-giving. I wish she were running for Pres instead of John, and I wish I could vote for her without having to vote for John.

It will probably be a close race, but I think Palin just put McCain over the top.

What are you talking about? Both sides attacked the other, and no one has been more hostile than the other. You must be blind and deaf.

Want to lay $50 on that? I'll put my money where my mouth is. I don't believe McCain can or will win this election.

Watch, during her closing line and applause.

So, I take it you just didn't notice the other thread already in progress before starting this one. You'd think there would be some moderators around here clearing up all these duplicate threads.

I hear ya' and totally agree.

Obamabots are afraid is all. That's why we have Capitol Numbnuts like NFSzero and Brownose saying just the opposite and trying so hard to point out everything wrong about Palin, but focusing on family instead.
