GoTY editions of games

I think I'm slowly creeping to the point where I'm not buying as many games brand new right off the bat and instead waiting for the game of the year edition to come out with all the DLC included.
Mr. McClure, am I crazy?

Seriously, with the backlog of games many of us have nowadays, what incentive is there to buy another game right off the bat when there's going to be $50 of DLC included with it a year later. Especially games not centered around heavy multiplayer communities.

All this non-transferrable digital content has got me too cautious to buy games anymore.

edit - I'm an idiot, after looking there are far less GoTY editions of games than I thought. Seeing DLC still makes it feel like you have an incomplete game though.

Yeah, GOTY != free DLC; particularly in the multiplayer ones.

IMO, just buy used. They're already starting to charge for the privilege of playing online in the first place.

GoTY is usually used game+expansions bought separately...so...when i bought Fallout 3.

20 dollars+3 expansions=$50+Taxes. So i'd give it around $56 total either way. Then again, there are exceptions to the rule.
