Gotta vent: Fedex lied to me

Well, needless to say, I'm a little pissed. I was waiting for a package that I needed today and sure enough it showed up as delivered when I checked it this morning. But, when I got home --- hey, no package! This sucks, and I'm not really sure what to do next. I tried calling and they said their ground "screen" on the computer isn't working, but it will be up in an hour. Still, they are just gonna see the same thing I did - package delivered. The only other thing I could think of is that maybe an neighbor brought the package in, but that's highly unlikely as it's small and I can't see them doing that. I guess someone could have stolen it, but I find that hard to believe - we live on a pretty sheltered cul-de-sac and we know everyone. Anyway, if it turns out I don't get a hold of this, what do I do? Does FedEx reimburse me? I'm not sure whether I got insurance or not, I don't think that choice was listed. Thanks for any suggestions!

1) Call FedEx and explain the situation
2) Call the place you bought it from and explain the situation

Between the two I'm sure someone can help.

Ive had this happen a couple of times actually...for some reason the driver marks the package as delviered when he actually hasnt been anywhere neer your house...a couple times it wasn't delviered till the next day even. There nothing you can do about it...they tell you to contact the person that shipped to you and they have to report it as never getting to the recipient,,,

A friend had a similar problem with FedEx ground. The tracking said delivered, but it wasn't. We called up FedEx, they acknowledged the error and sent another truck out.

You need to chill out.

Fedex Ground gets paid by the package, so if its missed, and they have to deliver it the next day... they don't get paid. I bet he missed it, then put it was delivered so he'd get paid for it, and he'll drop it off tomorrow. Make sure you let them know at Fedex you didn't get it till the next day (if thats what happens)..

maybe, but the weird thing is that he marked it as delivered at 8:43 am. I'll have to give them another call and follow up...

not sure, where does he live?

Edit: I see he lives in Ohio. I guess it's closer than some places, but I'm in NJ ;)

I've had both UPS and Airborne claim to have made delivery attempts when I was sitting on my lanai waiting for them all day. It sucks when you really need something and have paid a lot extra t get it delivered quickly.
