Gotta love working weekends

Nope, but I always loved working weekends.
The first 8 hours on Saturday were time and a half, double time after 8,
Sunday was double time for all hours worked.

Wish that was the case for me. I'm salaried, so I'm getting a big pat on the back and not much else 😛
 
I hate working overtime. I figure I'm not gonna get rich either way, and my time is too valuable for me to waste it at work. You only get one trip through life, and if you've given it all to a company, you've lost the game.

I've only had one salaried job in my life...like you, I always worked WAY more than 40 hours to earn it.

I hear you, but I gotta pay the bills somehow. Given the current economy and job market I'm not exactly in a position of power lol

Yea, it's tough out there. I hope they make it up to you with an xmas bonus. If they're just using you, I'd start looking for a new job. It might be lean pickings, but you never know what'll pop up when you look :^)

Yeah, I'm up for a promotion so I'm trying to finish the year strong. Bonuses are also based on performance, so everything hinges on me doing my job well. Hopefully it'll pay off at the end of the year.
 
I'm installing a domain controller next saturday morning. Hopefully i'm done before the Ohio State Michigan game

Sorry OP. Almost had to work. Big project due by the 29th and we decided to work late yesterday to keep from working today. Put in 16+ yesterday but got to stay home today.

Thanks, I should have done what you did. Ended up only needing 4 hours today to complete the work needed, so I probably could've done it last night.
 
I got called into work at 3 am because of an emergency. since I usually work saturdays anyways (8 am - 6 pm) I decided to just finish out the rest of my shift after the emergency was resolved.

I worked until I started getting worried that I'd be too tired to drive home, went to bed at noon, and just woke up a few minutes ago.
 
You work to live, not live to work. At some point in your life when there's an imbalance between the two, you'll have to decide for yourself if it's worth it.
 
I always work weekends. I'm starting to get pretty fed up with my job. Given the hours I work, the seniority I have, and them asking me to stay on, I still make a below standard wage. Its not even enough to support myself on.

Interestingly I worked seven day weeks when I was in college and didn't mind it. But I felt I was getting something out of that at least.
