eBay has some policy against this. If you overcharge for shipping, you can complain, (not sure what the penalty is) but I do know of eBay's policy. Used to be people would tack on a few extra bucks on shipping to cover fees (not just a few, more like $5 or so), and eBay frowned upon that... but not quite sure what the penalties are either.

Actually that's pretty clever, all the eBay fees (other than the basic posting fee) are tied to
either the highest bid or reserved price, this way he can set a reserve price of $150 while
only paying eBay fees on the $0.01 (in other words, nothing).

Wonder if you can get around the listing fee's that way. Maybe not if the S&H is listed in the payment details section, but, if it's in the text / description you probably could save a few bucks in commission.

He has an overall positive rating even if it is questionable business. I always check the s&h costs before bidding. LTBB.

So yeah, the item's invalid now, what was the guy doing? Huge shipping fee, and really low selling point, I take it? I still can't stand the people that charge extraordinarily high S&H prices.....like said, $15 for a DVD or something. riiiiight...

Stupid to fall for what? If the person buys a $200 cable modem (a price i just pulled out of thin air for my point) for $150.01, the only person getting screwed is Ebay.

i think the money usually rounds out, like people on eBay charging $5 for shipping as opposed to $2 for shipping for a CD, their auctions will end about $3 lower than the one CD that has $2 shipping.
