What do you guys think would be a cool idea? I can do virtually anything... obviously not pr0n or something like that, seeing as it's school ;)

any cool suggestions? I was thinking of doing World Rally cross, but I can't find *THAT* much on it..

What would you guys do if you could do virtually any subject? it has to be 10 slides is the only real restriction.. (there are more, but i can deal with those)

Any input is welcome, thanks!

Can't find any info on WRC? hmmmmm.. there are tons of sites around... try google?

As for other topics, here are some of my favs:

Space program - funding
Possibility of asteriod hitting Earth (always fun to scare ppl with this one ;) )
anything relating to modern music
philosophy - dualism to be specific.. interesting stuff, lots to read

I was thinking of doing something like that... the main problem i have, is how to put it into a presentation..
I can find enough info in rally, but I wanted to find more!

I need to figure out a way to put it into a presentation and have it make sense as to the order and what's on each slide.. that is my main problem. but i still can't figure out what to do, if something is a better, easier topic than i am thinking of.

Does anyone know how i can make a pic as a background?
when i try to set something as background, the only thing that works is a powerpoint file, if i set a large pic on the slide, it overwrites all the text that i have on it. i can't seem to make an image that i want, set as the background!

Anyone?

World Rally Cross is a great idea, and you shouldn't have any trouble getting 10 slides.

Slow morning at work so I'll try to help you out...

Try here for some Rallying links ('bout halfway down the page).

You could do a general overview of WRC or a specific subject (such as manufacturers or teams).

Suggested format:

1. Introduction: 2 slides (general stuff to get people interested, such as facts and pictures)
2. Background: 5 slides total
a. historical overview: 1 slide
b. comparison to other forms of racing (easy for the non-initiated to get confused!): 1 slide
c. teams: 1 slide
d. manufacturers/sponsors: 1 slide
e. locations (ie, tracks etc)
3. Your "take" on WRC, in other words, the future. (2 slides) Some questions you might ask yourself when preparing this section:
a. why is WRC cool/intersting?
b. will WRC gain/diminish in popularity? why?
c. why does nascar dominate american racing and not WRC?
d. etc, you get the idea.
4. Conclusions: 2 slides
a. general overview: 1 slide
b. pose some "unanswerable" questions, things that will make people think about your topic. 1 slide

That's it! Total 11 slides with little effort.

General hints:

-keep your points/facts to 4-5 per slide. You don't want to overwhelm your audience with information they won't remember. Keep it simple.
-pictures are your friends, however, keep them balanced. You don't want huge pictures that will take away from your text. Likewise, you don't want the pics to be too small.

Hope this helps!

Right-click on the picture. From the menu choose "order" then "send to back".

You might want to reduce the contrast/lightness in the picture also, so it doesn't stand out so much.

Again, right-click on the picture and choose "format picture". Under the "picture" tab, increase the brightness to around 80% and reduce the contrast to around 30%. Play around with these until you get the effect you want.

as was stated, to get text over the slide, look at your "layering". get inventive also as far as bringing text into the pic.

Incorporate some video.

It's very simple and can be very effective.

Don't get carried away though, PowerPoint is supposed to aid an oral presentation, not be its own visual presentation.

If you feel comfortable doing this, post your final presentation when you're done!

I don't know anything about WRC and want to learn!

good luck,
