Gotta admit, Ruben Patterson is a Kobe Killer

It's gonna be tough on KB in round 1. Wells will abuse him in the post on D and Patterson will do the same on O. If only he had to play Anderson on him the entire game (and vice versa). Yeah I know Kobe averaged 30 the previous 3 games, but Patterson sure has his number 1 on 1.

On the bright side, it looks like (B)rick Fox woke up for a few minutes in the third. Hopefully the Lakers will resign George but I doubt they'll have the cap space to match offers. It'll be a shame since the Lakers have developed George into a nice triange player. It'll be sad to see yet another West gem leave.

sorry, but that's how i feel about the whole Kobe Killer issue.

patterson may be a good defensive player, but he's not even half the offensive player kobe is.

Kobe is a great competitor but he has some faults like every player does:

1) Sulks after a bad call or an embarrasing play w/ no refs bailing him out (doesn't go back on D)
2) Leaks on defense occassionally (eg. cherry picks)
3) Bad post defender (I think his D is a *tad* overrated)
4) No progress on 3 point accurancy in his career
5) 1 on 1 tendency against certain players (he's a lot better than previous years)
6) Small hands
7) Needs more upper body strength

Best players in NBA
1) 34
2) T Mac
3) Kobe

I don't think anyone excluding Patterson would disagree with you on that.

He was convicted of having sex with a minor.

Problem with the Blazers is that Patterson doesn't need to have offensive talent. He is pure athleticism and energy. He'll get his points on put backs, fast breaks and by down his opponent and dropping it in. There's plenty of offensively gifted players on that team: Wells, Wallace, even Pip when he's on.

I heard Kobe is a nice guy. Security guy asked us if we wanted to eat dinner with him...seems like he just stays home with his wife

Yup Kobe turns it up in the PO's. He needs to work on his ball handling skills and concentration in the meantime. :)

Kobe's got 2 rings. Patterson rides the pine. Nuff said. Remember what they said about Gerald Wilkens? The "Jordon Stopper"? hahaha. Look what the Bulls did to the Cavs. One game doesn't make difference. Today's loss to the Lakers was academic. The Blazers haven't beaten the Lakers in a playoff series since 92'. I'm just waiting for Wells, Patterson, or Wallace to blow up and T themselves out of the playoffs.

I dont care if Ruben doesnt have the offensive talents like Kobe, but he is the Kobe Stopper.
and its not just one game, when Patterson was on the Sonics last year, Seattle whooped the Lakers 4-0 in the season series. and Kobe averaged like 10 points below his season average during those 4 games.

If L.A. Plays Portland, i would still pick the Lakers to win it in 7 games though, because they really turn it on in the playoffs.
