I was thinking about picking up Gothic III now that's it's been patched a bit. I noticed that the latest patches say they're for the Euro version. Does that mean the US and Euro versions don't use the same patches. Is 1.08 the latest US version?

I was going to get this game but this thread has saved me from wasting my hard earned $. How can any company that makes PC games, especially RPG (sans hack & slash, i.e., Diablo, Dungeon Siege, etc.) or Adventure ones, not get the idea that PLOT, STORY LINE, and ENDING are crucial to the overall gaming experience???

I've read too many people throughly disappointed, even disgusted, at Gothic III's ending. Thanks for helping me not to waste my cash!

it is not a *bad* game

it is simply *flawed*

IF the performance and broken-Quest *bugs* get fixed, even i can live with a *disappointing* ending


as i think more about it ... most "series games" have these types of endings ... UNsatisfying ... so it can *set up* for the next in the series.
