Gothic 3: Forsaken Gods

As much as I want to play it, I have to watch it with a wary eye. I waited nearly a year to buy Gothic 3 and it was still a bug ridden mess. Still is.

I hated Gothic 3. It was terrible on so many levels. So no, I won't be getting this. I have forsaken the Gothic series.

I thought Gothic 1 and 2 + Expansion provided some of the very best designed RPG gameplay. I am holding off installing G3 until the final 1.7 patch is released.

Then I will be getting G3: Forsaken Gods. This is a stand alone product and from what I have read the designers state that they learned from their mistakes with G3. But like you, Bateluer, I'll wait and see what actual gamers report from their own experiences.

I admit I haven't been following the Gothic franchise very closely, anyone know if they are actually going to fix some of the issues with G3, particularly with Vista?


Edit - Also, how are Gogamer's preorders? Do they ship quickly when the product launches? Not that I'm going to buy Forsaken Gods, but there are a few other titles coming soon that I may want. The NWN2 Storms of Zehir expansion also launches on the 18th.

I've never pre-ordered from Gogamer, but they ship their regular purchases just as fast as ebgames, I'd guess pre-orders are the same.

I will most likely be getting Forsaken Gods, if only to see what they've done.

I'll be buying it ,however overloaded with games "on my buying list",Sacred 2,Fallout 3 to name a few.

Odds are, I will too, but I at least want them to fix the Vista and Vista 64 issues. The 1.6 Patch integrated a few of the Vista fixes, but you still need to replace the font file in order to get above 5fps.
