As originally conceived, the series would have served as a straightforward story of Gordon's early days on the Gotham City police force. The idea evolved not only to include the Bruce Wayne character, but will also tell the origin stories of several Batman villains, including Penguin, Riddler, Catwoman, Joker,[5] Poison Ivy,[6] Scarecrow,[7] Hugo Strange, Harvey Dent[8] and Mr. Freeze.[9] The first season order consists of sixteen episodes.

It was okay... Felt like they were trying their best to just show off as many villains as possible.

The most annoying thing is that there's no Batman. At least with Smallville, Superman with powers was there, he was just younger.
 
I actually watched this. Was pretty cheesy. I liked Donal Logue a lot but the dialogue was pretty bad. Not rushing to watch a second episode.

A Batman show without Batman......saw the first episode......meh. Everyone knows how Batman became Batman, Catwoman became her self, same with the Penguin......meh again...
 
I'll just get this all out of the way now:

Season 1: This show sucks! It will be cancelled after 8 episodes!
Season 2: it's ok, but it's a bit boring.
Season 3: this show is awesome!

I'm pretty interested in it, but will catch up a few eps at a time. I don't expect it to be amazing right off the bat as I hope they take the time to build the groundwork (Gordon). They'll probably introduce a bunch of baddies and then take time through the season getting through each of them. I hope.

I honestly didn't think it was bad at all. It was paced well, it kept my interest, and I liked the characters. The Penguin is shaping up to be a badass 🙂

McKenzie did a good job, but him playing a cop again just reminds me how badly I miss Southland. Apparently, I am one of the few. The last season of that show was so very good. This seems like a weak subsititute.

I'm really not sure about the premise... a batman universe show without batman. I think Fritzo hit on the only way it could be interesting - as a villain centered show with some new twists (and excellent acting) along the way to them becoming (badass) worthy adversaries for bruce when he grows up...

I'll give it another chance, but some of the scenes were forced, especially all the cat... girl? poses. I kept thinking of her as a wannabe ramona (scott pilgrim) with those prop goggles on her head. Totally forced.
 
I havent watched it because Gotham without Batman is stupid. It'll just be a detective story with glimpses of the baby heroes and villians. This reminds me of Terminator Sarah Connor chronicles but worse because the center of attention will be around horrible 8 year old actors.
 
They were filming an episode using my building as a template for his childhood school. I got to see little Batman walking his way to the same bathroom I use at work.

So yeah, Batman used the same bathroom that I pee in. :awe:
 
All I know is, I've seen the commercials for this one like 1000 times... I have no real desire to watch this though. Nolan already ruined Batman. Wouldn't want the origin of any of the other characters ruined either. =(

That's the feeling I've gotten from everything I've seen on this show. It really looks like they wanted to do a cop show. Funny enough you'd think they'd know better considering how much people complained about Agents of SHIELD not having any super heroes in it. I can't help but feel it'll get a season or two and then end up in the 'could have been awesome but they fucked it up' bin.
