Thing that gets me is. How they have these some old looking environments, clothing etc... Giving aperance of an older timeline, yet inject it with some modern or near modern items.

It's Gotham, a fictional city in a fictional universe.

2nd episode was much better if only because they slowed down from their breakneck pace. I don't like how obvious the future iconic villains look. And I cannot wait for them to get rid of Will Smith's wife.

Penguin's cool, Gordon's cool, Harvey's ehhh, Alfred sucks, Wayne sucks, Falconi's cool, the chick that's played by Jada Pinkett Smith sucks, Catwoman sucks.

I'm not hopeful =X

So, peeps still be watching this? Stupid on demand only has the most recent episode, so I can't see episode 3. Still worth watching?

yes, it is. it's kinda like a cool little reboot.

not everything in the storyline is spot on (ie, barbara kean dating renee montoya or the use of cell phones and personal computers with huge crt monitors in some weird shifty 1940ish-1960ish-2000ish time period), but if you take it for what it is and give it a shot, you'll probably dig it. i know i do.

I am. It's taken a darker turn, now that intros are done with, but I still wouldn't give it more than 3/5, so far, optimistically (but, being on Fox, rather than FX, I didn't have exceptionally high hopes to start with). Once Upon a Time is still my primary major network guilty pleasure (I  the former evil queen, though), in between Torchwood, Red Dwarf, and Whitechapel.

If just one episode, Hulu Free should suffice, and I think still has it (and will look like an early poorly-encoded DVD :)).

Couldn't agree more. I don't think I would really mind her if it weren't for the way she talks. Like she's trying to sound smooth and gangster and seductive all at once, and instead she just sounds.......annoying. So far I like most everything else about the show, except I kinda wish they'd set it about 8 or 10 years later in Bruce's life, either right when he gets back from his training abroad or maybe even have the whole show set during his time away. I really like Donal Logue as Bullock, I think he does a great job.

This show is awesome. Everyone hating on Jada and her character can suck a fat one.

I did like last night's episode.

Showed how the extreme of lethality some of the henchmen of the mobsters practically requires a highly trained vigilante in Gotham.

I also like the extreme risk taking by the Penguin on display in the flashback.

This version of Carmine Falcon is definitely better than Batman Begins but that is to be expected as the show has more time to develop the character.

i swear your honor, she looked 18.
hopefully the show lasts two seasons so you can use that defense and not get sentenced.

but seriously, it's a great show. i'm really curious on how it's gonna develop. pretty sure none of the villains we have met will actually (what's the verb ? villanate?) do-villain-stuff, as they are all too young.

enigma is the riddler, cobblepot is penguin, the much-younger-than-she-looks thief girl is catwoman, all characters who were either younger than batman when batman was a grown man, or older.

catwoman is too old. the penguin is about right, make him 50yo to batman's 35. enigma wold have been teh same age as penguin which puts him out of canon.
and gordon is too old, he's about 50 to batman's 35. assuming the brat batman is 15yo, that would make gordon 30yo now.

I'd put the timeline of this show late '90s/early '00s. With the cars, computers and cellphones they use. Oh, 22 episodes with 7 done. Hopefully a season 2 and a cliffhanger at the end..

May have been the best episode yet. looks to have given a strong basis for the events that are forthcoming.

With the intentional mish-mash of tech and other known era items, can't really saw it's supposed to be any specific time period.

When is this supposed to be taking place?

The reason I ask is they portray it being awhile ago with how young bruce and the detective is and the lack of decent computers as you see typewriters often yet they have semi-modern cell phones of around 10 to maybe 15 years old.
