I am currently running a dual xeon e5410 (OC using BSEL mod to 2.8) 16GB(8x2gb) of ddr2 667 FB-DIMM. I use it mostly for encoding video and occassionally for games. I have a 8800GTS g92

The Nehalems have me itching for more. I also think that the power consumption and heat production of the FB-DIMMs are a little much.

I can't afford more that dual E5520 s. since we can't OC any of the dual cpu boards, how do you think the performance of the 2.26 nehalem compared with 2.8 harpertown.

Also, what is the verdict on HD48xx cards accelerating premiere pro CS4?

The dual gainstowns are quite a bit better than the clovertowns/harpertowns. There should be some links on here. I will see what I can find.
