I've been grappling with unplayably bad mouse lag in this game in one form or another since I got my ATi card. Last night I finally found the combination of settings that cured it:

-Vsync forced in the control panel.
-Triple buffering enabled in the game.
-Mouse smoothing set to full in the game.

Normally such settings will produce horrific mouse lag but that version of the Lithtech engine has problems with synchronizing framerate with input. So if you have problems with mouse lag try those settings. The game runs great on a 9700 Pro and still looks pretty decent too.

It's an absolutely awesome game I'm having a blast replaying it for the fifth time. :)

I?ve got that NOLF demo sitting on my HDD. Probably going to play it as soon as I get my new graphics card. :)

I couldn't figure out how to finish that one level where she is in the enemy compound and she's stuck in the gas chamber? Any help to be had? :p

I'm not sure about the level you're talking about? Can you give me some more details?

I'm not sure why, but I'm not getting mouse lag in NOLF, even with VSync off. Haven't tried playing around with it too much, running the Cat4.1s.

You probably have mouse smoothing on and this is the main setting which helps tremendously. However you probably will need to enable vsync anyway because without it the game's cut scenes will fall over.

I have Windows 7. I tried vsync, triple buffering, turning mouse smoothing up all the way, and cranking up AA. What fixed it finally was in Control Panel, Mouse, Pointer Options, and turning off, unchecking "enhance pointer precision".

Your input on the matter is appreciated. But bumping a 9 year old thread was less than ideal
