actually this is what happened and I'll try to keep it short. Building an A7V, 1gig Athlon,Maxtor60gig/7,200,Asus V7700 video, Soundblaster 5.1,floppy, LS120,Antecsx1080 case. Not a bad set up,
my first build and been working on it "carefully" for about a week.
I get everything running great including the OS install(WinMe)and then I go to install the sound card, sound card physically in and go to load the drivers from the supplied install disk and when I reboot after the install a message box that asks if I want to restart now or later shows up, restarts the system but won't allow the system to reboot and keeps showing up. Before I uninstall the sound card drivers I notice in Device Manager that the correct driver for the ATA100 drive isn't in and now theres issues with the sound card, USB mouse, etc. etc. I start uninstalling in the hopes of retifying whatever the mistakes were in the hope of proceeding after I get it re-organized. But now after all is said and done the USB trackball won't work,(its LED flashes for an instant then theres nothing), however the USB IBM keyboard which was in all the while is operating ok. What do I do now? Do I start over or did I possibly screw up
something that might carry to the second attempt PLEASE HELP ME...
I'm also curious if when the BIOS is reset to original values does it with certainty take things back to orig. factory settings. I've probably left a great deal out of this post so if you like you are welcome to email me at iam.happy@verizon Thank very much in advance because with your expertise maybe I can finish this project by myself.
