Got to see a Hawk CT-155 up close (and a medical helicopter too)...

I work for a company that provides service to young adults with fetal alcohol syndrone.

One of the things that one of my guys loves to do is go watch planes take off and land. There's a place where you can get somewhat close enough to see them.

Every once and a while you get to see a military jet, which is always pretty cool.

My guy spotted one coming in and watched it land. It landed on the far side from us, so we decided to try to get around to the other side to get a closer look. It turns out it was parked at a refueling station.

It was about 10pm and we really couldn't see much, so I was about to leave, when I thought to myself "There's no way this will work, but lets go inside and ask if we can see the plane".

Surprisingly we were able to walk right in and there was a man at the front desk who said he obviously couldn't let us out onto the tarmac, but we could see it from behind the glass.

Two minutes later the two pilots came in and we asked a few questions and they asked if we wanted to go out and see it.

They talked to us for about an hour and showed us everything about the jet inside and out. My guy got to hop up onto the wing, and then onto the intake for the engine and was basically sitting on top of the jet.

Once we came in, we thanked the pilots, and then in came some pilots from a medical helicopter... We ended up outside again and got to see everything again. My guy even got to sit in the cockpit.

All in all it was a pretty cool we got to see so much, especially since I thought we wouldn't even be able to walk in the front door.

It is a shame that mothers would do that to their children.

I wonder how many of them realize what kind of life they are setting their children up for.

Yep, very awesome. Awesome of you to work for that company too. It sounds like you work there for the right reason, not just a pay check.

That is awesome. Too bad you don't live in Phoenix. There are jets taking off every 15 minutes at Luke AFB. You used to be able to hang out on the North end of the runway & taste the jet fuel sometimes. It was about 3 steps above watching a top fuel dragster start up.
