Got to Love those Crazy . . .

Lifer
Hello, 9-11 ?

A local news item . . .

<CLIP>

Police arrested a woman after she told authorities that she severed her 11-month-old daughter's arms Monday at her Plano apartment, police said.

The infant died at Plano Medical Center, which is less than two blocks from the baby's home at the Fairway Apartments in the 1700 block of Coit Road.

Police identified the mother as Dena Schlosser, 35, a onetime Fort Worth resident, who they said has been charged with capital murder. Authorities did not release the child's name Monday, and they said they were not sure what was used to cut off the child's arms.

Schlosser's husband was at work and the couple's two other daughters, ages 6 and 9, were at school during the attack, said Carl Duke, a Plano police spokesman.

"I cut her arms off," Schlosser replied, as the hymn 'He Touched Me' played in the background.

You gotta wonder where these people crawl out from - and from under what.

IMO, this is more a matter of mentally disturbed than a Fund-A-Mental Case.

You're probably right. But Texas seems to be the epicenter for child murder/voices inside my head activity.

Postpartum depression, cognitive disorder from rollercoaster neurotransmitters, not caused by religion.

Thank you. You can no more "blame" her religion for this than you can blame whoever was on the radio a the time or the style of shoes she was wearing. Crazy people can be found in all walks of live.

This was only a few miles from our house. 🙁

Here's another

All deeply religious.

God personally told one to kill the kids. In both cases the kids had Biblical names.

We'll soon be hearing more about this latest womans demons.
I think you're reaching for a conclusion that's just not there. What type of mental illness do/did these people have? Should they have been on medication? No telling.

And wtf is up with that first link:

Conclusion
No tornadoes were reported in the USA for the first time this month. There were two shadows of weather elephants over California and one over Florida. California represents Israel, and Florida has been associated with the Palestinian issue. Colin Powell went down to Egypt for help with the Road Map for peace between Israel and the Palestinians. The reason there is no peace is because of the Palestinians. "Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help!" (Isaiah 31:1). Egypt symbolizes the world, and those who seek Egyptian help are requesting help from the Cosmic System. This was strike 2 in Powell's attempt to push the evil Road Map for peace. The Egyptians and Europeans still recognize the power of Arafat, while the Bush Administration is calling for a regime change.

A whirlwind was over the Great Lakes in the region of Naphtali, the doe and symbol of peace. This pointed to Powell's Road Map for peace. A whirlwind represents reaping what was sown under the Law of Volitional Responsibility (Hosea 8:7a). Those who sow to the Baal as the goddess of love in the peace movement, reap terrorism from Baal, the god of fire and war.
WTF?? 😕

Postpartum depression, cognitive disorder from rollercoaster neurotransmitters, not caused by religion
I?m wondering if her action was a combination of postpartum depression and religion. If the depression continues and goes untreated are we looking at a Postpartum Anxiety/Panic Disorder?
PostPartum Depression & Anxiety

Shaila Misri, MD, FRCP(C) describes Panic Attack as follows:
A discreet episode of intense fear reaching it's peak intensity within 10 minutes from onset. Often associated with or accompanied by feelings of impending doom.
At least 4 of the following 14 symptoms are present during an attack
shortness of breath, palpitations or accelerated heart rate, chest pain or discomfort, sweating, faintness, dizziness, nausea, depersonalization (feeling disoriented or that the world has become unreal) , parasthesia (tingling sensation), hot flashes, chills, trembling, · fear of dying , fear of going crazy or doing something uncontrolled.
NOTE: A SINGLE PANIC ATTACK DOES NOT CONSTITUTE A DISORDER

I can't get back to the original link to verify the extent of or if she was being treated for depression.

Listening to "He Touched Me." while in the postpartum depression state may have triggered this type of response. No?

CaptnKirk: Parents kill their children for a variety of reasons. It's difficult for me to judge an entire group of people for the actions of a few.

May her punishment be swift and just. What was going through her psyche while committing this heinous act is beyond reason. RIP young one. 🙁

This is a tragic story about a mentally ill woman murdering her child. Who are you calling a sheep? Did you *read* the story? It appears that your comment was based on nothing more than the original poster's Topic and Subtitle - ie: what he *wanted* you to think. Perhaps you're the sheep?

Killing to the tune of hymns smacks of crazy convictions which really strikes a nerve with me. I sincerely hope this is just a case of PPD, but having actually heard the gunshots of a fundie nut who thought he was doing god's bidding by gunning down a doctor and his bodyguard I hold violent zealots with a special amount of disdain.

Stalin was an Atheist.

Hitler was a Catholic.

The only clue that would have revealed the woman's religious inclinations would be the hymn playing in the background. This story is not injurious to the reputation of evangelicals.

But wow, what an absolutely sick act.

Hmm... Interesting: a few minutes ago I could link to the article; now it's telling me I need a subscription.

Hitler was an antichristian in every way possible; he deplored Christianity.

Hitler was a Christian much in the vein of George W. Bush. He used religion to further his agenda.

Adolf Hitler - Christian, Atheist, or Neither?

Some Quotes Used to Establish Hitler's Christianity

The Internet is awash with many quotes from Hitler that could be used in support of the idea that he considered himself Christian, or thought he was acting in accord with God's will, or something like that. I have collected a number of such citations myself. But bear in mind that these are mostly public sayings, so you have to be careful about how much you trust them. A good one is this from Mein Kampf:

"Hence today I believe that I am acting in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator: by defending myself against the Jew, I am fighting for the work of the Lord."

Another popular one is this, from a speech in 1922:

"My feelings as a Christian points me to my Lord and Savior as a fighter. It points me to the man who once in loneliness, surrounded by a few followers, recognized these Jews for what they were and summoned men to fight against them and who, God's truth! was greatest not as a sufferer but as a fighter."

The idea of Jesus being greatest as a fighter rather than a sufferer is of course a long way from orthodox Christianity. To quote Kevin Davids, author of an excellent article on Hitler,

"When one looks at the atrocities committed under the Nazi regime of Adolf Hitler and compares them to the teacher of universal love, Jesus of Nazareth, one might come to the immediate conclusion that the notion that Hitler was a Christian is absurd".

An example that springs to mind of the contrast between Jesus and Hitler is that Christ said the meek shall inherit the earth. Hitler on the other hand called the Nazis "lords of the earth" because of "the genius and the courage with which they can conquer and defend it" (Mein Kampf, Vol 2, Ch 14).

Regardless of what Hitler published, his actions put himself outside the Church, in a similar manner to the way an outspoken atheist would not really be an atheist if at the same time he regularly attended church, studied the Bible, and prayed the rosary.

I thought religion was all about what you believe. You can go to church and pray the rosary all the time, but if you don't beleive what your doing, your still an atheist.

If you believe in all the christian stuff but you do the opposite your just a christian thats going to hell. So really it depends on what hitler, stalin, GWB actaully believe or have faith in. Whether follow their beliefs doesn't define what they believe in.
