Got the nasal version of the vaccine on Monday, yesterday afternoon I started feeling like I was getting a sore throat. What signs should I watch out for? I realize chances are it's just a regular cold. Trouble is I have a 2 week old at home, was my main reason for getting the vaccine in the first place.

Probably all the dangerous chemicals found in it that are inflaming your sinuses.

But it also contains the active virus in the nasal spray. Good job on giving H1N1 to yourself and your family. My friend works at a hospital and he said this is the case for almost everyone they've given it to here in the Detroit area.

Don't worry though, H1N1 is a weak ass flu. You don't need a vaccine or anything for it. Fearmongering in the media and by the government blows up things like huge propaganda storms. I'm sorry you fell for it.

Almost worse than those that swear by taking it. Detroit huh. Sounds like Dr. Nick left Springfield.

You're a lying sack of shit and a dumbass. I'm assuming your friend is a janitor at a hospital.

Can the nasal spray flu vaccine give you the flu?
Unlike the flu shot, the nasal spray flu vaccine does contain live viruses. However, the viruses are attenuated (weakened) and cannot cause flu illness. The weakened viruses are cold-adapted, which means they are designed to only cause infection at the cooler temperatures found within the nose. The viruses cannot infect the lungs or other areas where warmer temperatures exist. Some children and young adults 2 years to 17 years of age have reported experiencing mild reactions after receiving seasonal nasal spray flu vaccine, including runny nose, nasal congestion or cough, chills, tiredness/weakness, sore throat and headache. Some adults 18 years to 49 years of age have reported runny nose or nasal congestion, cough, chills, tiredness/weakness, sore throat and headache. These side effects are mild and short-lasting, especially when compared to symptoms of influenza infection.

Sometimes the vaccine gives you the H1N1.

I could just say you're a fucking moron and be satisfied, but then I thought... maybe he's a fucking genius who meant that you get a killed/weakened version of a flu virus... but I'm still confident with moron.

It can't grow at normal body temp, only in the nose. So you gets a runny nose, but thats it. Stupid people (like the autistic fearmongering crowd and the very religious, and just plain nutbars) really think you can get infected from the vaccine. My troll was making fun of them in my own weird way.

Is a weakened virus still alive? If so what the fuck is the argument here.
No viruses are alive (vaccine or not, they are not alive). Viruses do not have thoughts, they cannot reproduce on their own, etc. That is like asking if your computer is alive. Sure, your computer has some characteristics of life (it can communicate error messages with you, it consumes energy, it can respond to stimuli). But your computer isn't alive. Same with viruses, they have some features of life but not enough to actually be alive. To go into more detail requires more philosophy than science: what exactly is life?

The H1N1 and other flu vaccines have side effects for a subset of people that mimic the flu symptoms. JTsyo, that doesn't mean you are sick with the flu. It means your body is responding appropriately to the invader and it is teaching its immune system.

The CDC is propaganda? Fuck, you are a retard.
Look up the data and test sheets for the companies producing the vaccines and nasal sprays and we'll see who the retard is. The companies haven't even tested these things [for mutations, long term, sterilization, etc], and the CDC is claiming them as safe.. even when they had to suspend the mercury limit to allow for the vaccine to come to market.

But hey, vaccinate your kids and hope for the best. Maybe you'll get lucky and they'll get low test scores or turn out retarded and you'll get some free government cheese out of it. Dumb them down enough and you'll get free college.

The H1N1 is virtually the exact same thing as the seasonal flu. There have been many, many years of testing and data for mutations, long term effectiveness and side effects, sterilization, etc for the seasonal flu. There is no difference between the H1N1 vaccine and these throughly tested vaccines. They are made the same way, with the same equipment, with the same personnel, with the same proceedures.

That's not what they claim in their documentation. (but yes, I know H1N1 is mild and has the same symptoms as the seasonal flu-- actually the seasonal flu is more deadly by statistical measures)

Bullshit. Fear mongering indeed.
