Got the Ati Radeon 4770 but strange problem.

Hey guys i ended up getting the Xfx 4770 but i have a problem..When i look at Dxdiag, it shows that i have 1275mb on the video card instead of 512.I also can't enable/disble things like directdraw and things like that...the button wont show at all..ive tried installing drivers off the cd , and tried downloading the drivers off ati's website..I don't know whats wrong and i think that this is affecting the performance in a couple of games i have.

What was your previous Video card and how did you Uninstall/Install?

upgraded from a x1600 pro...i didnt uninstall the drivers though, just swapped it.

oh wait nevermind...i installed a fresh installation of vista after i installed the video card so dont think that would matter

really strange dont know why its showing 1275mb...

I wouldn't worry about the 1275mb, that might have something to do with Vista's memory management(I don't use Vista, but have heard things, whatever that's worth :laugh. Have you got all your Vista Updates, Service Packs, etc(including latest DirectX)? All other Hardware Drivers up to date?

Try to run some Video benchmarks and post the results along with a list of your Hardware(CPU, RAM amount, etc)

Video cards have been doing this forever, i guess it only now starts showing up on dxdiag with the new os.
Nothing out of the ordinary.

ok cool thought something was wrong a lil bit... looks like im going to have upgrade my ram also... i have 2 gb currently but one stick is pc2100 and the other is 3200..
