Yes. Nikons are ok but Canons are for real shooters. :p

Well, I see at least one EF 200 F2L IS. That is $5300.
I see a few EF 600 F4L IS lenses. Those are $7600 each.
The Nikon 200-400 is $5000.
The Nikon 400/500/600 lenses range from $8000-$9700 each.

So, we say an average price of about $7300 per lens x 11 "mega" lenses in photo = $80,300. Add in the tripods, pro camera bodies (circa. 20), and smaller lenses, accessories, etc. and you're probably looking at another $150,000. So I would say about $200,000-$250,000 worth of equipment in that shot.

There's a picture out there of even more lenses in a similar situation.. I think it was a sporting event. Can't find it.

Pretty crazy though.

I guess that'll change (slowly) over the next few years if the trends continue. Even if Nikon releases better equipment at better pricing, there's still a lot of loyalty as well as money invested in glass, so, it'd be a long time for changes to show up. Just my opinion, and I'm a Canon owner. We'll see. Enjoy what you have.

WTF is w/ all the cameras in the white box in front of the TV Cameras?

Probably remote controlled cameras. This one was right on the stage.

This is why is it very important if you are going to be President to purchase and use a rotary nose hair clipper.

That's nothing. You should check out Soccer coverage :)

Pan around with the big view. Cameras everywhere. :Q

Another possibility is Shuttle launch photography, you see tons of photographers and they all have huge lenses.

That's not the only thing noticeable that's long. ;)

I am going to pretend to be innocent and assume you are talking about the smoke trail.
