I got a radio rating thing in the mail not too long ago with a Toonie in it. I figured "cool, may be worth doing considering they're basically paying me" Then about 20 pages folded down like an accordion and hit the floor. Yeah a 2 hour survey is not worth 2 dollars, sorry. Kept the $2 and the rest went in the recycling. :p

between netflix and torrents, I can't remember the last time I sat through commercials for a tv show. It'd be next to impossible to go back. Well, actually I do watch some HGTV once in a while and when commercials come on, all the other channels are showing commercials too... at that point I basically lose interest.

I sometimes contemplate canceling my Cable TV. It's like 60 bucks a month and I hardly watch TV, and half the time when I do, it's a repeat.

I need to see if there's a module in XBMC that allows me to queue up a bunch of stuff (like days worth) so I can start and pause at any time and it remembers where it was at. Instead of watching TV I could basically just turn that on. It's nice to have the TV going while I'm eating or something, but it's rare I actually watch TV, to watch TV. I'll sit down to watch a movie here and there though.

No, it's not.

Winston Groom's price for the screenplay rights to his novel Forrest Gump included a share of the profits; however, due to Hollywood accounting, the film's commercial success was converted into a net loss, and Groom received nothing.[7] That being so, he has refused to sell the screenplay rights to the novel's sequel, stating that he "cannot in good conscience allow money to be wasted on a failure".

Note to self: open any junk mail from Nielsen even though I don't have a TV.

meh, I pay my cable bill just the same. I just don't watch it.
Isn't this always an interesting argument? If he subscribes to cable why does it matter if he just downloads it? What's all that different between downloading it and saving it with a DVR? Funny how technicalities work.
