Got some questions regarding new TBred cores.

Which CPU's below 2100 are on the TBred core? or are they all? I am looking into picking up a new CPU tonight, anywhere from XP1700 to 2100. depends on whether or not the 2100 is on the new core.

i heard only the 1700 was on the new core (the place i am going to be buying from doesn't have any 1600's) so i am either going to get a 1700 or a 2100. if the 2100 is on the new core, i will pick that up, it's only $45 more (CAD) than the 1700.

can anyone tell me what the core might look like on either of these chips? what it would look like if it was a TBred...

thanks a bunch for any input.

Alot of retailers are distinguishing between whether or not the processors they're selling are Tbred cores. Everything that is being produced right now below 2200+ is now a Tbred A CPU, everything above and including the 2200+ is a Tbred B Cpu. Mind you, the 1600+ is no longer being produced from what I hear, so they should be solely Palomino. That does not mean that every cpu out there is a Tbred. Look for the information in the product description. For example, check out newegg.com and see how they do it with thoroughbred vs. palomino.

Excellent
I'll look for a TBred 2100+ then. 😀

anyone know if a TBred XP will work in a KT266A board no probs?
I have a Soltek SL75DRV4 I am going to be putting it in. it had a Palomino 1800+ which I've sold already.

I'd say it'd be a pretty tough time finding a Tbred 2100+ due to the fact that the Tbred versions of them haven't cycled down to the consumer yet. For the lower end processors (17-1900), they've been selling fairly actively, but the 2100+ hasn't been selling as many units. Thats why you readily see the Tbred 17-1900 processors available.

Concerning your motherboard, check out the manufacturers website and look for support in the latest BIOS revision they have.

I got a 1700+ for dirt cheap.
$99 CAD
great deal!!!

here is what the core says:

AMD Athlon
AXDA1700DLT3C 9292548270430
AIUGA 0244MPMW 1999 AMD

hope this baby clocks good. 😀
