Got some new wheels for the Corvette.

Never liked the C6 wheels that were on my car when I bought it, but it also was in desperate need of new tires. Dropping to the original C5 17/18 combo on the car would save about $300-400 on tires over the 18/19 C6 wheels. Prowling Craigslist for 2 months provided nothing.

Finally found some wheels on a Corvette forum with usable tires about a 3 hour drive away, only had to pay $450 for the wheels and tires, which should last at least a year before needed to be replaced. Drove down yesterday picked them up and got them installed, fits the car much better.

Are those pics of the same car? The black intake behind the door is missing in the second pic.

You drive a better but tires are too expensive?

I prefer the c6 wheels personally... But the c5s look great on that.

nice! Gonna keep the others for track spares?

Probably sell them, if I decide to buy track wheels I will find some of the C5 "wagon wheels" they are dirt cheap since they are hideous.

The black vent was a plastic fake Z06 brake vent, removed the first day I had it.

The C6 wheels look OK, but are not a good offset for the car, they sit inboard way too far on the rear.

Too expensive is a relative term, I am thrifty where I can be. Also the end of the year is fast approaching, lots of expensive bills upcoming, so I need to keep an eye on my cash. I can sell the C6 wheels for what I gave for the new ones, so I get another year of driving for no cash outlay.

Those look like c6 wheels rather than c5. Regardless, it looks good. And great choice on the millenium yellow.

Are they lighter at least?

Yes. After carefully weighing each wheel, and adding and subtracting the difference in wheel weights for each individual wheel, I have saved .00345 ounces per corner...average of course.

They are a C6 style wheel, but in C5 sizing and offset.

Glad you ditched the ugly chrome ring on the rear reflector too. I have no idea why people do that crap. I always get a kick out of car doors that are lined with chrome trim. Why the heck would you want to show off the outline of your door? lol.
