I have a ECS P4VXASD2+ (P4X333) with a celeron 1.7ghz... I have been using SDRAM for years and it's still running fine.. but 2 days ago when I bought some ddr memory, I put them in, they causes physical memory dump. Here is the result:
I have 3 piece of memory, I sold the 512meg tonight tho, so I only have 2 piece of 256meg

1. I try one piece 512meg DDR PC2700 - OK
2. I try one piece 256meg DDR PC2100 in both slots - OK
3. I try another one 256meg DDR PC2100 in both slots - OK
4. I put both 256meg in 2 slots - memory dump

what casues it?? thank you.

It should work, but what seems odd is that that is only rated for PC2100 and PC1600 DDR-Ram
and you had PC2700 working in there.I don`t know much about Ram but it seems odd it worked.
Or may it was only working at PC2100.
Try a different manufacturer or something but it doesn`t sound like there going to work together
Anyway,sorry i cant help much.

the odd thing is that two of those PC2100 are identical, they are same brand with samsung chips.. I can get both of them work, but when they are both put in, 256 + 256.. then it will have memory dump, I can conclude that it will dump when all 2 slots are used.
