Made a late night run for the border tonight for some chalupas and Taco Bell discontinued the Baja chalupa. Damn you Taco Bell! They also got rid of the nacho ones as well. All you can buy is a supreme with that sorry runny excuse for sour cream. Ordered 3 of those instead but its just not the same.

This is worse than when Wendy's discontinued their pitas. How will I go on?

A couple of years ago they changed their combo meals and I could no longer get the "2 chalupas and 1 taco) combo. Eliminating that combo drove the price of what I usually ordered, up by quite a bit, so I stopped going to Taco Smell for anything.
It's too bad they're eliminating the Baja Chalupa. It was my favorite thing on their menu.

Don't worry, your arteries are rejoicing at the good news.
Supreme is worse for your arteries than Baja because of the sour cream. My brother was just complaining about not being able to get a Baja chicken gordita yesterday.

Chalupas are the only thing I ever eat at Taco Bell. I have them like once or twice a year.
The baja was the best, followed by the supreme. Never really cared for the nacho cheese and nacho cheese has no application beyond nachos.

The nutrition information provided by taco bell appears to disagree with your professional opinion.

:? That... doesn't make any sense. I wonder if they accidentally swapped all Baja and Nacho Cheese entries.

Taco Bell drove up the prices on virtually everything they serve. The fiancee and me used to grab Taco Bell for around 12 bucks total (without giving a thought to what we were ordering); the last few times we've gone, no less than $20. Fuck that, we'll go somewhere else.

Why does that make no sense? Those special little sauces they put on these tacos generally pack more of a fat/calorie wallop than just sour cream. Sour cream is a fairly straight forward, non bastardized condiment compared to the manufactured hydrogenated oils/fat sauces they slather on these other concoctions.

It seems you easily got caught up in the typical food fallacies.

The overall nutrition shows Baja being the "worst" followed by Nacho cheese, and then Supreme bringing up the rear.

Which makes no sense. I don't even notice sauce on Baja and, thus, one would assume that the health impact vs. flavor benefit would be so far out of whack that they wouldn't bother with it. I would think only ranch could compare to sour cream or nacho cheese. I kjnow nacho cheese isn't real cheese, but a block of cheddar is almost pure fat and I would expect sour cream to be similarly concentrated.

Well, your assumptions are obviously flawed and not making much sense. It happens quite a bit when laymen attempt to apply their own logic to any particular topic they have little knowledge of. :sneaky:

Sour cream is minimally processed compared to cheddar, or ranch dressing or any other of the highly processed hydrogenated shit sauces they put on those taco things. Cheddar cheese and typical ranch dressings are nearly, or over, double sour cream in all aspects of nutritional values. You would be surprised by the reality of the actual nutritional aspects of food if you left your food myths in the past, remove your emotions from food and did a little learnin'!

My wife is one of those trained nutritionist people. Here is a pro tip: Substitute drained greek yogurt for sour cream and no one will be the wiser.

I was talking about block cheddar, which is decidedly less processed than most cheeses. My confusion is simply that I only see fats REMOVED from Baja vs nacho or supreme. What do they add that includes the fat? Some unseen "Baja sauce" that only tastes like a bit of spice in the salsa (Supreme also includes salsa, or at least some similarly seasoned mix with diced tomatoes)?

I'm 6'2" and 205. I wouldnt say fat but I'm not skinny either. I could stand to lose 15-20lbs. I eat out a lot but don't snack much between meals so it balances out. I Also don't eat breakfast, so that helps too.
